The second installment of 365 Days ends, like the first film, on a cliffhanger that calls for a third installment. The latter, already filmed, should soon be released on Netflix and looks more violent.
After a problematic first part which had created controversy when it was put online on Netflix, the 365 days trilogy continues with the second opus, 365 days to the next day, a little softer but still just as ridiculous. Like the first film, its sequel, again directed by Barbara Białowąs and Tomasz Mandes, ends on a cliffhanger leaving the fate of Laura (Anna-Maria Sieklucka) in suspense.
The young woman, who had become close to Nacho (Simone Susinna), a rival of Massimo (Michele Morrone), is between life and death after being shot by Adriano, Massimo’s twin brother. But, as mentioned above, 365 days is a trilogy adapted from Blanka Lipińska’s novels and Laura will be alive and well in the third installment, titled Another 365 Days, which began filming simultaneously with the second.
What to expect next?
The “love affair” between Massimo and Laura was already strained due to Massimo’s family and mafia problems and it will not improve in the third film. In the book, the big wedding day finally takes place and Massimo and Laura, pregnant, can finally celebrate their love before the birth of their child.
Only, a few days after the wedding, Laura is shot. Massimo must then make a difficult decision: save Laura’s life or that of the baby. He chooses Laura, much to his despair. The young woman mourns the death of her child and sinks into alcoholism, which prevents her from developing professionally. To fill the emotional void, she adopts a dog.
For his part, Massimo becomes a drug addict and can’t bear to see Laura getting closer to Nacho once again. In a fit of anger, he kills the dog and makes Laura jealous by showing up with another woman on his arm at Olga and Domenico’s wedding.
He succeeds in winning Laura back and once again holds her prisoner, but she ends up escaping and finds Nacho, with whom she marries and has a child. And the 365 days trilogy ends on this happy ending.
The adaptation of the 365 days trilogy has taken different paths and this should be felt in the plot of the third and final installment. Indeed, Laura lost the baby at the end of the first film, Massimo will therefore have no choice to make between her and the future child.
But that does not mean that the couple will end up together and that there will be no other obstacles, especially since their romance has already experienced some disappointments in the second part and that Laura has become very close to Nacho. It’s not yet known if Netflix, which produces the final two films, will follow through on the violence depicted in the third book, but it’s not impossible.
We will have to wait for the first images to find out more about this third part, already shot and possibly in post-production. Which would mean that Another 365 Days could very well hit Netflix later this year or next year at the latest.
